Trip Report: Let it Snow! This trip was unprepared for, conditions on the trail were worse than anticipated. Although There was light accumulations of snow at the beginning, it got worse as the alltitude increased. Some parts contained Drifts/accumulations of two to three feet. The snow made it extreemely diificult to hike, snow shoes should have been a must to prevent the constant sinking every step. Because of the slow speed due to the snow we had to bail out on the Blue Ridge Parkway, which was also cvered in snow about 4 inches deep in some parts. In natural tunnels between blow out rocks there was enormous walls of icicles. Overall this would have been a great trip with the assistance of snow shoes.
