Trip Report: This trail is one that you definitely do not want to miss if you are ever in the Colorado area. The trail is paved which makes it easy for handicapped individuals to be able to enjoy and only .20 tenths of a mile long but the the views are quite breathtaking of course that may partially be due the elevation of 12,000 feet making the air thinner than most of us are used to. There are several signs to read about the wildlife and tundra as the trail gently descends down to a lookout point with rock walls that encircle it on three sides. At nearly 12,000 feet above sea level you can see dozens of mountain tops that even in the month of June are still capped with snow. The air is a bit thinner and even a slight breeze can make it feel brisk or cold as you can see from the photos we wore our winter coats because it was only sixty degrees outside and rainy. Because it was rainy we could not see the mountains as well but the wisp of fog sure did make the view very enticing. We even saw a few small animals in the tundra that day.
