Directions: From the town of Estes take hwy 34 to Trail Ridge Road which winds through the Rocky Mountain National Park. The parking area for the Forest Canyon Pass overlook is just before you reach the rock cut or approximately 4 miles before the Alpine Visitor Center.

Hike Summary: From the parking area there is a paved trail which is only a couple of hundred feet long which goes down to half circle rock wall which is intended to keep guest from falling off the side of the mountain. From here you see some spectacular views of snow capped mountains in the distance and the valley below. This area is covered in tundra because it is at nearly 12000 feet above sea level.
