I’m getting ready to replace my hiking shoes, and would like to get some feedback. In the past, I’ve always worn high-top (over the ankle) hiking shoes, but have been contemplating mid-highs or even low-tops. I typically only backpack once or twice a year for approximately three days (two nights), and carry a pack less than 40 pounds. Any thoughts or suggestions?

Merrell, Vasque, Asolo are all good brands and stand behind their boots.

I realize this is late: I concur, those brands are very good. I wear Merrell Continum’s now and love them for the warm weather of Savannah, Ga.

For cooler, wet weather in Tn I have a pair of Cabella’s GoreTex hi top boots that have been going strong for 4 years now. Going to be replacing them soon and going with either Merrells or Vasque hi toppers.

Looking for some advice for cold weather (rated to -40 degress) boots good for crampons, snowshoes for use in Northern NY and White Mtns. Thanks

    Hello,

You can wear indestructible shoes because I’m wearing all brand design shoes but comfortablity in this brand is just wonderful. When you wear its shoes will feel softness in your legs.It is temerature adjustable shoes according to climate.
    Thanks…
