Trip Report: White Lightening cooked up eggs this morning at the house, then he/I loaded the kids into his van and took them to McMullen Creek Greenway off NC 51 (Pineville Matthews Road). The Camel met us at the trailhead and we hiked in for a mile along the creek and across a series of small boardwalks. The area is swampy in sections but is well marked and maintained. The kids enjoyed the walk and the trail was busy with many day hikers and runners enjoying the weekend. Finished the two mile backtrack hike in about an hour, then drove to a nearby Red Robin for lunch.
