Trip Report: This trail is brand new! Just opened in November 07. Absolutely beautiful trail, very well maintained. Light traffic during the weekdays. You start with the .5 mile connector trail to take you to the west loop. During the spring there are wildflowers everywhere!!! Cross over a bridge to begin the West loop (signs mark intersections). After the bridge there is a moderate climb up a few switchbacks. The trail crosses the creek several times on well constructed bridges. There is a very short connector trail to get to the East loop. Look for the quarry trail off the right to take you to the old CCC rock quarry (now a pond). Nice place to stop for a snack. Back on the trail you do a short strenuous climb and then it levels out back to the West loop. The last bit of the west loop has some more strenuous parts but they don't last too long. Look for a bench on the left that marks a great long distance view across the valley. Trail head map says 4.13miles, my GPS had us almost 5 miles by the end.
