Trip Report: It was a hectic morning and I was glad the Weasel and his family were running late. They were originally due to come by around 10:30am but didn't show until noon which worked in my favor since I had to feed/dress/pack for the kid before the hike at Vickory Creek in Roswell. We made it to the trailhead by 1pm after the Knight's enjoyed some family fooseball in the basement and we did a drive-thru lunch at McDonald's. The trail to the falls was well worn, but not well marked yet we found the falls with the help of a black and white map printed from the NPS website. There were a group of guys fishing and drinking beer when we arrived and the water was running too fast for the kids and dog to get in the water. So we snapped some photos and moved on to the covered bridge section of the hike which made for a nice lunch stop. The younger kids had some mini-Gold Fish, and The Weasel took Rebel and Kevin to the creek for a dip and drink. The water was moving slower downstream, so we did a post lunch break along the creek (which runs more like a river) then backtracked out taking advantage of a short-cut route that ran in and out of a ravine. It was hot hiking, but the kids did great and we all had an excellent time.
