| Directions: | From Kalispell take Highway2 to East Glacier park entrance. Take Montana 49 to the turn off for Two Medicine road on your left. Signs will mark this turnoff Go to end of raod. If you have the option, proceed to leave a car at the Cutbank Creek Trailhead, or arrange for transportation back to your vehicle at Two medicine. The Cutbank creek trail head is accessed by going bac to route 49 and heading North toward St. mary. A gravel road will branch off to your left that is marked Cut Bank Creek. The gravel road is approximately 6 miles. |

| Hike Summary: | We took 3 nights to take this hike. Staying at Upper Two Med, NO Name Lk and Morning Star campgrounds. WE dropped a car off at the cutbank trail head and one at Two Medicine lake. The first 3.7 miles can either be hiked or via a boat ride across the lake, we chose the boat ride! The hike to upper two medicine is a short distance 2-3 miles from the boat dock. The section to No Name lake was about 3 miles and we went up aprox 720 feet. The lake was set under a 2000 foot cliff (just guessing the drop). The next day was tough day. We hike 9 miles over Dawson and Pitimaken Pass (up 2200 feet) to morning star lake campsite down (1900 feet). Along Dawson pass most of our group (there were 12 of us) took a side hike up Flinsch Peak (up and down another 1600 feet). Flinsch peak (9225ft) was incredible-- 360 views of much of glacier national park with helicopters flying below us! It was a long, but rewarding day where we ended up exploring some Ice Caves at Morning star lake campground. The hike out cutbank pass was relatively uneventful compared to the day before. |
