Hike Summary: | Lake Panasoffkee was acquired to preserve a vast floodplain forest near Wildwood, Florida, and the land also preserves pine flatwoods, freshwater marshes and oak scrub forest. The 9,911 acres wilderness area has trails for hiking, biking, horseback riding and offers additional recreation opportunities for hunting and fishing. This hike on the Jones Creek Trail roughly follows the northeastern corner of the lake south of FL 44 and does a lollipop loop around some primitive camping areas. |
