Biography: | I have been hiking and camping since I was in high school. I got my love of the outdoors through girl scouting and have never lost it! I mainly enjoy day hikes between 4-8 miles. My newest favorite places to hike are in the northwest corner of GA in the cumberland plateau. I look forward to each weekend that I can get out and explore new trails 🙂 Im very fortunate to have a boyfriend that also loves to hike and a wonderful dog to keep me going! |
My Best Hike: | Keown Falls/Johns Mountain Trails |
Best Hike Description: | Absolutely beautiful hike even when the falls are dry. When flowing you can hike beneath the falls, between the water and the sandstone cliff overhang. 2 over looks provide fantastic views of the valley and several mountains. Wonderful in the winter when the leaves are thin. |
My Worst Hike: | Vickery Creek |
Worst Hike Description: | First of all its a very confusing series of connecting trails. Secondly parts of it runs right next to sewage pipes, which makes for some fabulous smells in the summer. And thirdly it was not well maintained when we were there. So much trash! Very dissappointing |
A Memorable Trail Moment: | My best friend and I attempted a thru hike of the AT in GA. It rained, no, downpoured on us for 3 days straight. We were soaked through and through...there was no chance to dry at all. Each night we made it to a shelter and hung everything out to 'drip dry' (hence the nick name). After 3 days of solid rain, fantastic blisters, and soaked gear, we called it quits. But I would do it all again in a heartbeat! |
Dumbest Trail Move: | mp3 player...who wants to listen to that when you have natures music all around you! |
Trails That I Want To Hike: | James E. Edmonds Backcountry, Providence Canyon Backcountry |
