Hike Summary: Trout Creek is a tributary of the Hillsborough River. In spite of massive urbanization around here, there are surprising numbers of nice remote wooded areas still preserved. I walk out at this park quite often but am posting this because I ran across a small alligator on the trail and got a good photo. He was on a dry section of trail. So the lesson is, don't assume you only find gators in swamp or standing water. There was a pond about 75 yards to the right and some cypress swamp off to the left. I took the pic and moved on in case he had some bigger relatives hiding in the tall grass !
