Hike Summary: | This short hike along McMullen Creek starts at NC 51 (Pineville Matthews Road) and follows the stream along a wide path that is used frequently by runners and hikers. Portions of the footpath sit on a raised wooden walkway due to swampy sections that ocassionally breach the path. In the winter, expect to see the backs of the houses that line the trail but in the summer you'll almost forget you are still within the city limits of Charlotte. Regardless, the trail is well maintained and easy to hike and it's a great way to spend the afternoon. We hiked a two mile section, but you can extend the hike to well over four miles if you have the time. |
