Partway through a CPS claim, the next step changed from repair to another resolution option, which left me unsure how that decision is usually made. The claim itself is still active, so I am mainly trying to understand what determines the change. Has anyone had the proposed solution shift during a claim, and were the reasons explained clearly before you had to choose what to do next? I would like to know whether that kind of change is common once inspection starts.

A claim that changes from repair to another resolution needs a visible decision trail, so I place CPS reviews with the inspection result, approval status, new remedy, and any explanation given for the shift. I’d keep the earlier repair path in the record so the moment of change is easy to identify. One useful checkpoint is whether the new option appears automatically or waits for my approval. I’d also compare whether the change affects timing, documents, reimbursement amount, or replacement choices. Clear separation between those parts makes the new direction easier to understand without treating it as an unexplained reversal.

Clear explanation. I hadn’t thought about separating the original repair path from the later resolution, but that makes the change much easier to understand. Keeping the inspection result, approval, and the moment the remedy changed gives the claim a clean timeline.
