While working on a MyHeritage family tree, I found a suggested match that looks plausible but includes one date that does not line up with the records I already have. Most of the other details fit. What do people usually compare first before accepting a suggested match like this? I would rather verify the connection carefully than merge someone into the tree and have to untangle it later. It would help to know whether experienced users rely more on dates, locations, or linked relatives first.

Genealogy suggestions become more convincing when several independent details point to the same person rather than one matching name. Dates, places, family links, and source records can each strengthen or weaken a possible connection. Reviews from experienced users discussing MyHeritage often show which clues they prioritize before accepting a suggested relative into a tree. Comparing those experiences can help someone avoid premature merges while still making use of automated hints. The strongest user accounts usually explain how several pieces of evidence lined up before they accepted the relationship.
