Trip Report: | Was in Salt Lake City for business and decided to stay a few extra days for a bit of recreation. Ended up skiing a couple days and then debated on whether or not to make the lengthy drive to Arches National Park. In the end, decided to get up at 4:30 am and make the trip. As such, was at the entrance station by 8:30 am. Glad I made the decision and ended up spending four or five hours in the park. You will need more time than this if you plan to see all the arches, but I was short on time considering I still wanted to drive into Moab for a late lunch, and then drive back to Salt Lake City to fly out the next day. As such, I tried to concentrate my efforts on the more popular arches (i.e. see other hike descriptions). Wrapped up this series of short hikes and drove into Moab for a quick, but worthy lunch, at Quesadilla Mobilla, a food truck located along Main Street. Had a New Mexican Identity Crisis and hopped back in the rental car for the long drive back to SLC. Despite the long drive, would definitely recommend this trip. This is a spectacular place to visit. |
