Trip Report: | This hike, which can be done as a one-way trip or as an out-and-back, is a great workout. It's unlike most forest hikes, as a large portion of the trail is over large and small rocks and boulders. Many of the trail blazes are painted blue markers on the underfoot or visible rocks, as some areas of the trail have few trees. If you're looking for a nice one to two hour outing near Washington D.C., or a good workout, this is an ideal hike. Try to wear good shoes for traction. |
