Trip Report: Can you tell I like this place? Took a break from "guests" at our house and went on a solo speed hike of the area. Would have worked out better if my camelback didn't finnally spring a leak. The alligator count for today was 17 with most being over 5 ft long, only three 3-4 footers spotted swimming. I do not recommend hiking along the canals for people who don't want to get close to apex predatory animals but it's great for us that have more courage than brains. Had three very close encounters, unfortunately of course the camera crapped out on me by then. It's time to spring for a good camera soon.
