Trip Report: I love this little hike here on HAAF. Today there weren't any river otters but a grea mix of alligators. I wasn't going to go here today but my curiosity just got the better of me. I was looking for a weeping willow in the area that I could get a few cuttings from for the wet land behind our house. After searching the woods to the South West of my house I ended up on the canal's edge, either go through it or around it as there was another stand of trees that looked promising....the water was warm and I ended up sharing the water with a 1 ft gator that didn't even flinch. Probably not my best decision in the world but I more or less "walked on the water" instead of waded in it.

In all, I spotted 7 alligators today, ranging from 1 ft to 6 ft. This area is just really cool to me and I dread the day that the warden catches me in here. I somehow doubt he's going to believe that I'm hiking and not causing trouble of some sort.
