Trip Report: Got packed up by 10:30am for a hike to Arabia mountain today, and picked up Black Crowe for the hike. He discovered Arabia mountain recently, and it was a great call to hike here. The terrain was unique - like a mini Stone Mountain - with much less traffic on the trails. We hiked about three miles today to the summit of Bradley Peak then onto Arabia Mountain (which is actually smaller) and took breaks at the top of both. The peaks are composed of granite which has been quarried at some point in the past. The signs are everywhere with slabs and chucks of rock everywhere. I took the kid out of the backpack and let him play with the stones on top of Arabia Mountain, then we hiked down past a private lake and let the dog wade in the shallow water. Black Crowe walked the dog on the leash which helped significantly. We eventually made our way back to the AWARE office and South parking lot are about 1 1/2 hours on the trail which was perfect. By then, both we were ready to head home. Dropped Black Crowe off at his house, then picked up some fast food from Checkers on the way home.
