Trip Report: | Delightful loop, although nothing dramatic. Go to State Park to register, deposit the modest fee, and receive the combination to the padlock of the parking area for the trailhead. Hardest part of the trail was opening that lock! Trail is well maintained and easy to follow. Beautiful typical Florida scenery, one wooden bridge crossing what seemed to be a shallow canal, a couple of boardwalk sections to stay out of the mud and not degrade the trail surface. I think I only saw one snake and a couple of armadillos, so don't go looking for alligators or long legged birds. If trees, a stream, and the interplay of light turn you on, this is a trail for you! |
