Trip Report: 7/27/03 (Sunday) – Rebel woke me up around 8:30am this morning and I was surprised to find that I was the first one up. Usually the Camel is an early riser, but not today. I sat down by the river with the dog for a while, then met up with DoRag and we cooked some breakfast (which was eggs and sausage.) I burned the eggs a little bit, but some Tobasco killed the taste pretty well. Cleaned up the dishes, packed up our gear, and hit the trail around 11:30am. It was a short hike back to the trailhead, but we stopped at Schoolhouse Falls on the way out and it was mobbed with day hikers. Hung out for around twenty minutes, then climbed back up to the Cold Mt. Gap Trailhead. Parted with The Camel and Sikle and headed home around 1pm. Ran into the guy that lives nearby and has cleared many of the trails in Panthertown Valley on the way out of the parking lot and he showed us where to check out some really cool falls down past Greenland Creek Falls. I’ll have to mark the map on those. He said they were the best in the area. We finally rolled into Atlanta by 4pm this afternoon and I sacked out for a few hours once I unloaded my gear.
