Trip Report: | Originally got the hike from Backpacker search, and it suggested the trail proceed several miles past the falls you see pictured here. I did the full length of the trail, and the portion past the falls was straight up and straight down the mountains. Seems that GA trail makers have a propensity for this type of trail, and forgo any switch backs. As the hike notes there are cables and rocks at (adult) head level to be avoided. I would NOT recommend this trail to everyone, but only the more athletic. Had I written the initial hike report, I would have listed this as a moderate to strenuous hike. Also, as the hike notes, I would not recommend this, even to the athletic hiker on summer weekends. The traffic on the trail would be horrendous. As I said earler, I had entended my hike past the falls. I encountered very few people until I returned to the falls...then it looked like Coney Island. I was glad I had taken my pictures the first time through. |
