Trip Report: | Okay, not a long trail by any stretch of the imagination. In fact, if we weren't climbing trees and throwing the football around, we wouldn't have even broken a sweat....but this was an awesome little stroll and let's face it. Here in the coastal empire I'll take any trail I can find. This one had more educational value for my Son than for the sense of adventure. We spotted all kinds of wildlife and to be honest miliatry reservations get hammered all the time for our activities being negative for the environment, but honestly, I really don't think you can compare the amount of diverse wildlife on a military base and the general lack of wildlife off base. Lizards, birds, interesting trees and palms, bugs, and jumping fish were all over the place. A great hike for the little ones with some great climbing trees (live oaks). |
