Trip Report: My boyfriend, pup, and I LOVED this trail! Absolutely beautiful trail, views, and waterfall. The waterfall is very seasonal and depends heavily on the previous rains. It was flowing but only a little when we were there. The hike begins completely flat and easy. After about a mile you begind a very gradual uphill through a series of switch backs. Definately hike the Keown Falls trail counterclockwise. The stone stairs lead you up to the over look, which is fantastic! You can see Lookout Mountain, and Pigeon Mountain. From here pick up the Johns Mountain trail and hike clockwise. In the winter we had some wonderful views of the surrounding valleys from up on the ridge. The 2nd over look gives you sights of the extensive farm land below. Once back to the stone stairs hike down half way to the falls. You can hike under the rock overhang and beneath the falls. Our pup loved being thrown under the water and then rolling in the dirt! The hike back was a steeper down hill in this direction. But still only moderate. Fantastic hike!
