Trip Report: Trail Maintenace Hike: Took the little man along the canal system today armed with garbage bags. We picked up a kitchen bag full of garbage today. On the way back through we spotted a small stream that was backed up and becoming stagnated due to limbs, leaves, etc. We cleared 150 yds of stream and picked up another garbage bag of trash along the way. He really enjoyed just getting muddy and destroying the dams that blocked the water. No issues with snakes and very light spider activity still in the woods. We had a great time and look forward to clearing the other three stream in the area. I can remember as a boy doing this very thing in the streams around our home in the hills so it was great, as a Father, to get out there and get muddy, then sneak into the house and take a shower while the "Trail Boss" was napping. Great Father and Son day today.
