| Trip Report: | We hiked in 3" of snow today and reached Coosa Bald via the Duncan Ridge Trail. There is a single campsite here - but the "bald" is now covered with trees and is pretty overgrown. So the best time to camp in this area is from late fall to early spring. Make sure to carry water - since the summit is dry. Nearby is a small rock outcropping with views to the valley floor. |
