Trip Report: It was an all girl's weekend. Travis, Carrie, CC, and I had been staying at CC's parent's house for the weekend and decided to go for a day hike before heading home to Atlanta. Travis decided to go back home the night before, but the rest of us wanted a chance to get out in the woods. Taking two cars, we left the house and met at the trailhead around 11am. It was a beautiful day, perfect for a day hike.

Just before the start of the trail, we noticed a group of picnic tables and a grill, perfect for a picnic. We decided that is where we would have our snack, after the hike.

With Daphne (CC's bull mastiff) in tow, we began our hike. It was a beautiful day, so the hiking was incredible. The trail was well-marked, with only slight changes in elevation -- enough to feel like we were getting exercise, but not too much to wear out the dog. Daphne, by the way, does not have the energy of my yellow lab.

While hiking, we ran into another couple towards the beginning of the hike and didn't see anyone else until we were nearing the end. The hike is about a 2 mile loop. After gabbing and catching up for a couple of hours, we had completed the loop.

We got our snacks out of the car and enjoyed a little picnic lunch before heading home.
