Hike Summary: | This hike begins at the Nature Center. Follow the paved path around behind the center and to the swinging bridge. Cross the bridge and begin a short climb up stairs to the beginning of the Gorge Overlook Trail. This trail is 1.1 miles and moderately difficult. Be sure to stop at the 4 overlooks. Some are better in the winter when tree leaves arent obstructing the view of the gorge. Follow the trail to the right by following the signs for Fall Creek Falls. From the falls overlook begin the Fall Creek Falls trail to the base of the falls. It is only .4 miles one way but very very steep and slippery when its been raining. You get to the base of the falls and are warned not to climb on the rocks or behind the falls. Use caution if you expolre farther like we did (well worth it). 0.4 miles of strenuous climbing back out TAKE YOUR TIME! Then connect with the Woodland trail for 0.8 miles back to the swinging bridge which will take you back to the Nature Center. |
