Hike Summary: | Sparkleberry Swamp is the focus of the March 8 tour. A four-mile round trip, this tour is rated easy moderate. Because of the ongoing drought, the swamp is close to its conditions prior to the construction that flooded Lake Marion. Led by the noted biologist and naturalist John Cely, the group will travel by foot deep into the swamp and see plants, animals and birds rarely seen. Bring cameras, bird books, snacks and water, and sturdy footwear is recommended. |
