Hike Summary: | This is an opportunity to see the state forest up close. Led by Forest Director Harvey Belser, the group will travel by car and stop at points of interest within the forest. Learn about red-cockaded woodpecker colonies; see some of the many products harvested in the forest, including how pinestraw mulch is gathered; and see an outstanding wildlife management program. After the tour, you will be free to explore the back roads on your own or even take a short hike on a trail. Rated easy. |
