Hike Summary: | My wife and I attemtped to hike to Deep Gap camping area, but due to time only made it to Cattail mountain about 1 hr. from the camping area. Hike was strenuous with a lot of ups/downs. Basically you are hiking a continuos ridge line from Mt. Mitchell toward Deep Gap. There are some breathtaking views on several balds. The Mt. Craig and Mt. Tom peaks are good view points to observe the fall color. |
