Hike Summary: | Lake Toxaway is the largest privately held lake in North Carolina and it was developed by the the Lake Toxaway Company. The man-made lake is 640 acres and flows out onto Toxaway Falls and then continues down the Toxaway River and eventually to Lake Jocassee. Meadow Ridge is a field and mountain neighborhood within Lake Toxaway Estates. The 60-acre nature preserve has an open area with wildflowers, a playground, a pavilion, firepit, and picnic tables to enjoy the views of the surrounding Blue Ridge Mountains. A gravel hiking path circles the open area with outstanding views in all directions. |
