Hike Summary: | From the parking lot at Few's Ford picknick area it is just a short walk till you can see the Eno River. After crossing a foot bridge you can choose from several directions onto Cox Mountain Trail or Fanny's Ford Trail along the river. If you decide to take Cox Mountain at first you will encounter a up hill climb that will take you to the top of Cox Mountain. Upon entering a powerline clearing, the opening does offer a view of the surrounding hills and valley. A great time to go is in the fall to catch the changing colors. After this it is a downhill stroll to the river where you will find yourself walking with the current and meandering through the woods. A great place to spend an afternoon. There is also primitive camping on the grounds that are on a hill over looking the river if you choose to stay the night. |
