Hike Summary: | Starting from the parking area on mile 8 of the scenic road you head first along a trail on the desert floor. Once you come into the canyon the trail becomes more rocky with a few areas you need to scramble over the rocks. Watch your step- some places are steep. At the bottom of the canyon there is a small stream with some small waterfalls in season. I went in January and it was very comfortable- not a place to hike in July when the temps are over 100. At the stream I was unsure if it was the end of the trail. Hadn't felt like over a mile, but all ahead was rocks and trail at that point would have been much more difficult. There are also several intersecting trails that are unmarked so it is possible to take the wrong path. |
