Hike Summary: | If there was an area of Isle Royale National Park that could be considered ‘bottomland’, this hike will take you through it. This is the best moose habitat on the island, and another area where a wolf sighting is possible. 4 days is recommended for this in-and-out hike. You will average about 10 miles per day. Start at Windigo and travel on the Feldtmann Lake Trail, 9 miles to Feldtmann Lake. Day 2, travel 10.2 miles to Siskiwit Bay. Return to Feldtmann Lake on day 3, and then go out to Windigo on day 4. Feldtmann Ridge is a little less traveled than other areas of Isle Royale, making it a go-to place for some solitude and relaxation. |
