Hike Summary: | A nice easy stroll. Peat moss trails are in excellent condition and well as bridges over the muddy marshes. Spot Fiddler Crabs, Black Rush plants, Island Hammock, Saw Palmetto, Tidal Creeks, the Cherokee Rose, Confederate Earthworks, Intracoastal Waterway, and salt flats on you way. There are two sections that allow you to go to secluded beaches and are good places to observe wildlife. Stop by the interpretive center on your way to your car and check out birds through the binoculars, and view a baby alligator and other animals. Beware of the Giant Sloth. |
