Hike Summary: | The trail was EXTREMELY busy this weekend. The trail is very wide and well traveled, and even in the wet conditions was easily passible even by some seemingly out of shape day hikers. My buddy and me along with the two mutts hiked in and set up camp at one of the MANY primitive camping areas. The next day we continued on to check out the falls. After being a little disappointed with the depth of the water (it was only about 6 inches deep, when I was told it was frequented by fisherman-maybe i was just out of season) and the scenery of the hike on the way in, the waterfalls were not a let down. Park rangers were out and being very persistant about not only my pups but other pups on the trail, constantly threatening us with heavy fines. All in all the waterfalls were really the only thing that made this trip seem worth while, however I plan on giving the trail a second chance at a time that might be a little drier and less busy. |
