Hike Summary: Starting at the day use area, cross old 441 to trailhead. Walk under the highway bridge to get into the forest. The trail goes down to the creek and you pass a small waterflal, which you can hear more than you can see. just before 1 mile look for a double white blaze for a sharp left hand turn. If you miss the turn there is a trail that takes you back (since so many people miss it). At about 1.5 miles you cross a small footbridge. At about 2 miles you start to hike on more rocky cliffs with wire guard fences to help you. At 3.5 miles there is a short side trail that takes you down to Panther Creek Falls. There is a large pool at the bottom of the falls that, when warm, is a nice place to swim. There is a nice clearing here to stop for lunch or to camp. You can either continue on from here to the end of the trail 5.8 miles at Davidsons Creek. Or turn around and hike back to the start for a total of 7.2 miles.
