Hike Summary: | May nice places to stop, rest, and enjoy the outdoors on this trail. Restrooms also in a few places. No dogs allowed 🙁 My pup was very sad to hear that! Start off a the parking lot, this is where you will end so you can start in either direction. We took the trail to the right, behind the restrooms and across the street. This trail crosses roads many times so watch out! Beautiful trail, wide and easy to follow. Just look for the white blazes or in some cases the brown hiking signs. Many ups and downs on this hike, taking you from the ridge down to the lake and back up. You'll have many good views of Lake Lanier and several small paths that lead to it. Make sure you check out the man made lake at about 2 miles. We found a lot of wildlife here;snakes, frogs, turtles, butterflies...and saw 2 deer playing under the power lines 😉 You'll also get a good look at Buford Dam on the drive up and at times on the hike. Beautiful trail, would do it again. Probably much more impressive when the lake is full. |
