Hike Summary: | Cost was $3 a night per person. Spent 3 days 2 nights in the park hiking the loop with a hiking partner over spring break. First day we hiked from the Gregory House to Rock Bluff primitive camp overlooking the Apalachicola River where we spent the first night. Fire rings were at each primitive site and firewood was supplied at the spur trail junction. We got an early start on the second day to loop around the south end of the park where we crossed the entrance road and cut back north. The trail takes you over the old Stone Bridge where we stopped for a snack and snack. Our final destination that day was at Rock Creek primitive camp. Fire rings were at each site. The final day we woke up and hiked out back to the Gregory House where we passed old Confederate artillery batteries from the Civil War. Overall a great trip and getaway from school. |
