Hike Summary: Perkins Central Garden Trail starts from the main parking lot next to the restrooms and is a 1.5 mile looping trail that ends where it begins. The trail is paved with only about a 50 foot incline making it ideal for beginners, small children, and handicapped individuals. The scenery is of some unusual but spectacular looking red rocks that have unusual shapes. The trail takes you down a path which meanders below these rock formations there are lots of benches and plenty of great spots for pictures however there is little shade and it can be very hot in the late summer or early fall. The park is free to visit unless you want to pay for a guided jeep tour or rock climbing. It is open 8 am to 8 pm memorial day through labor day and from 9am to 5 pm the rest of the year. It makes a great place to go hiking or have a picnic lunch with the family while enjoying the scenery.
