Bear right at the junction with the trail to Evelyn Lake/Vogelsang, and climb approx. 1500 ft. over 3 miles to a panoramic view of Lyell behind you, and the Vogelsang area ahead. Hike down into the basin and pass a small tarn on the left before reaching windy Evelyn Lake, complete with sandy beach. Camp near the lake, and the next morning hike 1.5 miles to Vogelsang High Sierra Camp for potable water, toilet, and the junction with the Rafferty Creek Trail back down to Tuolumne Meadows.
