Hike Summary: | This is a shuttle hike but you can do it with only one car. Start at the Yosemite Lodge in the valley. Buy a ticket the day before for the bus to Glacier Point. The next day park at the lodge and catch the bus to Glacier Point. From Glacier Point take the Panorama Trail. The trail descends 3200 ft. with some short uphill sections. The trail crosses Illilouette Falls 1.5 miles from Glacier Point and continues along the Panorama Cliffs. It can be hot and dry during late summer (carry water), but offers many tremendous views. At the top of Nevada Fall the view of the valley is breathtaking. The trail joins the Vernal-Nevada Falls Trail and continues down (steep steps in places) to Happy Isles Nature Center. Catch the free shuttle bus back to the lodge and your car. |
