Hike Summary: |
From the Crescent Creek trailhead hike gradually upwards for about 2.5 miles. Cross the bridge over Crescent Creek and continue upwards through pine forests. At about 5 miles the trail levels out and proceeds through an open area with tons of views. Continue down towards Crescent Lake to the primitive campsites or the reservable forest service cabin. The hike continues on Crescent Lake trail which is very primitive. During the summer months the grass can grow above six feet. Leading to find the trail with your feet! But about mile four the trail opens up and meanders through the forest. Keep an eye on the trail as you can easily loose it. Upon the saddle is another forest service cabin that can be reserved. Continue on this trail towards Carter Lake Trail. Much easier going than the trail on the otherside of the cabin, but still difficult in points. Upon meeting up with Carter Lake trail, head east towards the trailhead. Many areas to camp at this last junction. Great Multi day hike! |
