Hike Summary: | The hike begins at the Devils Creek Trail Head parking lot. Roughly a 10 mile gradual up-hill hike to the Resurection Trail intersection and the Devils Creek Cabin. From that point the actual hikes are endless whether you choose to go north or south on Resurrection Trail. Next portion of this hike heads north for just about 6 miles to the East Creek cabin. Cabins need to be reserved through the National Forest Service, but most of the areas surrounding the cabins contain primitive campsites. Leaving East Creek head back south on Resurrection Trail to Resurrection Pass. This is where you pick up Summit Creek Trail. Summit Creek Trail is not as worn as Resurrection Trail, so keep your eyes open because you can totally walk by it. Ascend to about 3600' to a great 360 degree view from Summit Creek Trail. Continue on Summit Creek Trail til you come upon several beaver ponds, this is a great area to set up camp for the night. Continue east on the Summit Creek Trail, ascend another pass that brings you through some rocky areas and elevation at about 3600'. Hike about 3 miles on Summit Creek Trail to the Summit Creek Trail Head parking lot. From here you can hike the remaining 3 miles along Hwy 1 or ask a fellow hiker for a shuttle back to Devils Creek parking lot. |
