| A Memorable Trail Moment: | After the Samaria Gorge hike - we were the only ones who didn't have to take the bus back to the other side of the island. We took a ferry to a fishing village called Loutro which is remote, very quaint and relaxing cove. You can only get their by ferry and it has very limited car access. |
| Dumbest Trail Move: | Samaria Gorge - Crete, Greece - I thought this would be a great thing to do in our two week trip to the Greek islands. I knew I had made a mistake when we got on the bus at 6AM and we were the only people carrying their full backpacks and not a just a daypack. We hiked 1 mile into the gorge, 9 miles in the gorge (all downhill and rocky), 1 mile out the of the gorge with 50 pound backpacks. Even though I was in training for a half marathon - I was wiped. |
