| Biography: | I am a retired Air Force NCO that first became interested in hiking when I was stationed in Germany in the late 1960's. After retirement, I was looking for something interesting to keep me in shape. I was lucky enough to meet several local hikers younger than I who were kind and patient enough to get me into the sport. I have made over a dozen hikes in the last five years, and am planning a trip across the Gila Wilderness in the Spring of 2006. |

| Worst Hike Description: | I knew just enough to get myself in trouble, and I was lucky to get out. Ran out of water on the trip, and barely made it to a ranch house. The people were very friendly and helpful, and didn't even call me a dumb s#@t! |
| A Memorable Trail Moment: | Sunrise of Diamond Peak in the White Mountain Wilderness. It reminded me of sunrise in Southeast Asia, but more colorful. |
