| Biography: | I love adventure—hiking, snow-backpacking, climbing/bouldering, and every outdoorsy thing imaginable, except that I haven’t quite gotten up the courage to desire to go bungee jumping! I enjoy strength and independence. I think my favorite word is freedom--which I feel so much of when I'm in the outdoors. |
| My Best Hike: | Hoover Lakes |
| Best Hike Description: | I did the loop from Virginia Lakes to Green Creek with my sister and two of our dogs. It was in mid-July so the columbines and other flowers were peaking, making for some great photos. The terrain in that area is beautiful, with many alpine lakes and grassy meadows and boulders. |
| My Worst Hike: | Carson Pass snow camp |
| Worst Hike Description: | My sister and I went with a group of 8 people on a snow camp trip. The plan was to snowshoe out to Meiss Lake (4.0 miles) and make base camp there. We left the trailhead in a snowstorm and the director of the group became tired and wouldn't let us go any further. So we camped about 2 miles in among a small clump of trees. It snowed one foot of snow that night, and continued the next day so the whole group stayed in camp. It was the most boring hiking trip ever! |
| A Memorable Trail Moment: | --Sitting at an overlook near the Forsyth Trail junction along the Cloud's Rest Trail in Yosemite. My sister was painting the view of Half Dome in oil, and I was simply taking in the view. |
| Dumbest Trail Move: | Cell phone--I don't have a problem with turning your cell phone on at the top of a mountain peak and calling home, but it's absurd when you are walking along the trail and hear a cell phone ring. |
