My Best Hike: | Hood River, OR/Columbia River Gorge - July 1999 |
Best Hike Description: | I actually went to Hood River to windsurf the Columbia River and ended up hiking trails in the area all week instead. I think I actually windsurfed only 2 or 3 sessions, and spent the rest of my week hiking all over that area. |
My Worst Hike: | The Old Hot Springs (North) AT Trail |
Worst Hike Description: | It's been a lo-o-ong time, but the AT out of Hot Springs, NC used to go straight up for over a mile, and it was always a brutal climb with the pack "first day out" full. I think since then, it has been re-routed into switchbacks. .........gawd I hope so. |
A Memorable Trail Moment: | Sunrise from the summit of Volcan Baru, Panama |
Dumbest Trail Move: | Remember the old peanut butter and jelly plastic tubes that we used to use to carry PB&J with us for the "first" lunch? I consider myself a pretty hardy person, but I never could make myself eat what came out of those things. |
Trails That I Want To Hike: | 1. Cerra Punta to Caribbean Sea through the La Amistead World Heritage Site 2. Ben Nevis, Glencoe, Scotland |
