My Best Hike: | Trapper Peak |
Best Hike Description: | Trapper Peak is the tallest peak in the Bitterroots. The unforgiving steep trail does not switch back for four miles but gives you amazing views of the wilderness. The final mile is a steep bouldery scramble to a pointy zenith that affords one of the most breath taking views I have ever seen. |
A Memorable Trail Moment: | The first time I experienced what it meant to be in wilderness when I realized there was no one around for miles and all the laws and rules of man melted away and I was at the mercy of wild nature. |
